Quashing the FIR registered against YouTuber Maridhas for posting a controversial tweet, the Madras high court observed that a YouTuber or any social media personality regularly commenting on public affairs would be entitled to the same rights accorded to journalists and the media under Article19(1)(a) of the Constitution, which guarantees right to freedom of speech and expression.
