    Elderly woman killed brutally in Kolkata

    72499034The brutal murder of an elderly woman who was alone at the apartment of her youngest son in Garcha sent shockwaves in the packed, busy south Kolkata neighbourhood on Thursday. The sheer brutality of the murder — the body was found with the head severed, her stomach ripped apart in such a manner that her internal organs were visible and with two dozen stab injuries, each about two to five inches deep — has led police to suspect it was for revenge, not money.
