    FERA violation: Ex-cop’s conviction confirmed

    A sessions court in Chennai has confirmed a trial court judgment convicting Abdul Samad, a former inspector of police, for holding foreign currencies to the tune of Rs 2,94,50,120 without prior permission from the Reserve Bank of India in 1993, according to an official release from the Enforcement Directorate, Chennai zone-1.
