    Inscriptions reveal Chola ruler’s royal orders

    A study of some of the fragmentary stone inscriptions -- dating back to 10-12 century CE -- found at a temple in Trichy has revealed interesting information about two Saivite mutts that existed here in the Chola period and about the allotment of fertile lands to the temple by Chola ruler Rajaraja III.
